19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since spring of that year.
Success also means he has secured 21 titles at 21 different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a championship is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was over.
But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an better serve.
He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his first tour title, took control to push for a final set.
He saved four early opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
