Ship Halted Following Fatal Incident of Woman Left Behind on Island

An extensive extended cruise around the Land Down Under is being halted in the wake of the tragic passing of an elderly lady who was left behind by the ship on a isolated coastal location.

Suzanne Rees had been trekking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the vessel, but parted ways from the group for a break. The vessel left without her and came back several hours later after the personnel became aware the passenger was missing.

A large-scale search operation found her remains the following day.

Authorities are looking into the tragedy, together with investigators and the official investigator.

The CEO of the shipping company announced that travelers and personnel on the Coral Adventurer were told that the remainder of the voyage had been called off due to the "tragic passing and prior engine troubles".

Via official communication, he further stated that guests would be provided a full refund, and said the organization was working "to arrange the travel back of the passengers via specially arranged planes".

He said that the company was "deeply sorry that this has occurred" and had offered its full support to the loved ones.
